HAPPY NEW YEAR
or
Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu!
TOYOTA 2000GT 2 MODELS
Hatsu Haru Tomica
Shou Shun
Heisei 24

It has been a while since my last post, but I hope I can get back into the swing-of-things. So, let’s start out the new year with this 2 car set by Tomica!
The Tomica 2-car set is known as an Oshogatsu set (New Years set).
The box design is loosely based on Japanese Nengajou, or New Year’s Day postcards (The Japanese have a custom of sending New Year’s Day postacrds to their friends and relatives, similar to the Western custom of sending Christmas cards..
The front of the box reads (from right to left, top to bottom):
Hatsu Haru Tomica (Early Spring Tomica)
Shou Shun (literally Exalt-Spring, or better as Glorious Spring)
Heisei 24 (the year 2012, as per the Japanese calendar which is numbered according to the
year of the reign of the current emperor)

Inside of the box:
- the blue side reads the same as the cover, except it is written from left to right.
- the orange page reads “Heisei 24 Dragon” in reference to this being the year of the dragon.
The paint and color scheme of each car is based on traditional kimono patterns. For those of you that don’t know what a kimono is, The
kimono is a Japanese traditional garment worn by men, women and children.
