In my previous post I mentioned that I received several packages in the mail last week, from Japan, Spain & Germany.
Today I will begin by posting the minicars that came in the package from Japan.

The last time I posted about the JAPANESE CARS COLLECTION was back in November 2009 with No. 91 Toyota Crown (2001). Between the Crown and the Starlet, there were 8 more Toyotas – I will have all of them posted to the blog in the next few weeks. Since I last translated the website list (back in November 2009), several cars have been renumbered: No. 130 Toyota Estima (2001) is now No. 138; No. 132 Toyota Crown Royal (2004) is now No. 144 ; No. 135 Toyota Crown Toyopet RS41 (1962) is now No. 148; and No. 150 Lexus IS 250 (2006) is now No. 137.

While several others have been completely dropped from the list: No. 137 Toyota Windom (1991); No. 139 Toyota Land Cruiser (1982); No. 143 Toyota Alphard (2003); No. 144 Toyota Publica convertible (1963); No. 146 Toyota Celsior (2001); and No. 149 Toyota Prius (1997). I am especially sorry to see the Publica convertible dropped from the schedule.

PACKAGES

This past week was a week of packages.

First, my wife and I received a care package from Japan. Clothes, supplies and food items for her; minicars for me.

Then I received a long awaited package from Spain. It was shipped in December, and just arrived.

Found the orange MBX 4×4 in the 2009 Desert Adventure pack at Big Lots!

Not long ago, I was reading a discussion in a diecast forum where someone mentioned the Matchbox MBX 4X4. One of the things said was this model is based on a Toyota FJ series Land Cruiser. So, being the Toyotamobilia collector that I am, I had to check it out. I found some pictures online and the model looked close enough for me to decide it was a modified Land Cruiser and that I should hunt it down. And that is what I did…

In my course of research, I found there were a number of color variations. The first one I picked up was the Superfast version from 2009. I bought this at the local Toys R Us store, where I had seen them languishing on the shelf since late 2009.

After the first one, I tried to find more variation in the local stores, but to no avail, so I searched online and found a shop that had 4 models. I promptly ordered them and had the models in a few days.

TOYOTA 4RUNNER – #74 of 100

This is a very nice representation for this vintage Toyota. This Matchbox was one of the last to be released in 2010, but I didn’t find it until a few days ago. This model is the first generation 4Runner produced from 1984 to 1989, and is depicted with accurate body decals. I look forward to future color variations!

HOT WHEELS

First, I must apologize for my long absence. I went to Japan back in November, and after my return, things just got busy at home, at work, and online – sometimes it seems like too much for just one Toyotageek to do.

But, I’m back to posting and I will try to keep to a more regular schedule for updating the blog.

Now, on to the Toyotamobilia!

I’ll start out with some of the newer stuff I’ve acquired recently, and then I’ll backtrack and add items that I’ve gotten over the past few months.
