KONAMI

NEW STUFF
or, something not really new, but is new to my collection
KONAMI

Konami Toy & Hobby has made all sorts of great candy toys over the years. A few years back they made the Classic Car Collection - "Classic cars that shined the 60's and 70's. Japan's automobile history recreated in 1/64 scale." There were 6 volumes, plus one entitled "The Best". Each volume consisted of 6 different car models, and each car was available in 2 colors; one car was packaged per box. I managed to collect most of the Toyotas in the entire series several years ago, however a few cars were still missing (at the time they were fairly expensive and hard to find).

Recently I decided to fill that gap and hunt down the missing cars - a couple of 2000GTs and a Sports 800. The hunt went pretty easy, and I was eventually able to find the cars on Yahoo Auction Japan. I purchased these 2 Toyota 2000GT's, which were part of Volume 1.

With the acquisition of these two models I was only missing one car, and that was a red Sports 800 from Volume 2. It wasn't too long before one came up for auction and I was able to acquire it also. A few weeks later they were in my hands.

With the addition of these three cars, my Konami Classic Car Collection of Toyotas is now complete. I think I'll post up the entire Toyota range in the near future, so keep an eye open for more about this series!
